Disappearing

Well as you noticed it has been over 2 months since I updated. A lot has happened: moving, school, work, planning, living, and loving life has been hectic. It literally feels like I disappeared from my old life and enter a new life. (which most of us feel when we hit college)

However, I'm gonna try my best to keep updating this.



Being a Southwestern is challenging and thrilling! I have been reading many classic books by Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Susan Wise Bauer, Everett Ferguson, etc and learning how this world that we live in (which I know very little about) works. I thought throughout my whole life I was gonna learn only about Christian things, but God has called me into something bigger. He's literally BLOWING UP my mind and its so amazing seeing He works, how I'm capable to grasp this, and understand it. I intend to impress myself sometimes lol.
Anyways...living in fort worth has been such a blessing. A week and a half ago our car broke down while I was on my way home from work. Apparently something is wrong with the engine so I have been walking, riding the bus and bike to school and work while Nick and I are trying to save money for a mechanic or a new car. A lot of people assume that its just horrible having that happen and not being able to get anywhere without relying on others. I would agree in some part, but Nick and I realized that its still a blessing. Seeing how God is humbling ourselves and being able to see how blessed we are. I definitely still see the power of God working.

Wedding Update.

Since the car broke down, Nick and I decided to push our wedding date to May 11, 2010 (the original date that I wanted). I began to noticed that everyone that was helping me plan the wedding was stressing out, so it just makes sense for everyone (including my own sake) to push the date. We're still very excited about it. Tomorrow we're taking our engagement pictures! I can't wait to see, admire, and post them everywhere.

Week before it all starts

So it has been awhile, i think its time for another update

Nick has been working so much! I'm so proud of him that he's working so hard in order to take care of me (even though he doesn't have to just yet, but wants to) and he enjoys doing it too! Gosh I'm so blessed to have a man like him in my life!

My pageant starts in a week, and unfortuantely I haven't prepared much. Bad on my part. I got a call from my work saying my job is on hold, so i'm not sure how i'm gonna pay for a dress, get a hotel room and get the rest of the sponsorhip money in order to be in the pageant. God is in control though, i just gotta put in my effort.

A week from my pageant, Nick and I are going down to silbee, tx to visit his family then going to lousiana for his family reunion. I'm so excited! Not only its my first road trip (as in plan it on our own and driving together), but I get to meet a lot of his family.

I start school real soon too! I'm going to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary now. I'm majoring in BA of Humanities and my concentration is Missions. I found out the other day my roommate is from South Korea! How cool is that?!

Well that's what we have going on in our lives as of righ now, but there will be updates when we get something new going on. God blessed!

Constantly saying to myself "Take one day at a time"

Its been a couple of weeks, so its time for a new post.


"Life is series of emotions" - Mark Lowry has been my quote for the last couple of weeks. Nick found out that his job has been giving him less and less hours, and he had to find a second job. He was able to find one really quick. His friend works for Six Flags and knew they are hiring (like always) and Nick jumped right on board. Today was his first official day and he enjoyed it. Funny thing is, when he just started this new job, he a lot more hours at Crossroads. Ironic I must say...

Oh! Last Sunday was his graduation! I'm so glad he finished high school. Throught his senior year and had some thoughts of dropping out, but nope! He stuck it through! I'm so proud of him :) His family was able to come up here to celebrate with him and got to go to our church and meet our friends. It was nice seeing them again.

Last week I had my Freshmen Oreintation/Registration at DBU. Unfortunately, I was stressed out the whole week before up to the day of registration. God deffinitely had His hand over the whole situation and gave me peace throughout the event. I ended having a wonderful time! Meeting new friends, becoming more familiar with the school, and got my classes set up. I found out I did a really good job too. I'm stoked! I was able to choose 2 classes over the summer to help prepare for college. I'm able to move into the dorm almost a month early which is awesome!
Tomorrow I get to shop with Britney (my future roomy) for dorm room stuff. We refer each other as roomates so we most likely have each other. I miss her and I'm looking forward to spend quality time with her.


Today I found out my cousin is getting married sometime next year. I don't think I have met his fiance yet, but I have seen pictures. They look like a wonderful couple and I'm excited to go and be apart of what God has created.

Nick is a new creation!

Today is a very special day. The day Nick decided to hand his life over to our Lord and proclaim it through baptism. My prayer has been answered, a lot sooner than I though too! It is such a blessing to see someone you love literally transform from the world into out of this world. Coming home to our Savior. I was so choked up that I couldn't decide if I should cry or keep smiling. I just have an overwhelmed joy in my heart that I will see the man of my dreams in heaven, and most important of all, have an intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

He told me earlier today that having his own place helped him get out of his past and moved on. Having God providing that to him, changed his heart about Him. Today is a new beginning of this realtionship and we are both so excited to see what God has in store for us

About the apartment

It hasn't been a week since he moved in, and he has a lot of things that a house usually has. Which is awesome! I'm so glad how his apartment is turning out! The pics you're about to see were taken Saturday, the day he moved in. We will post another set of them so you can actually see how its turned out.

First Post

Well this is the first post. To start something new is refreshing I must say. There's a lot of new things going on and its quite an adventure! So here's what's going on.....


The Moving
A couple of weeks ago Nick had to find a appartment. As we searched through the internet with many, we found one on our 2nd try! It felt like God has his hand over this transition the whole time! The appartment looks nice, close to his work, my house, and my school. There was no complications into being approved ! So now he's moving into his new appartment this coming weekend and I am SO excited! The best part is that he's able to get furniture from our friends and family! We are so blessed to have the friends and family that we have and we thank you so much for helping us through this experience!

School
So far I have turned in my financial aid and residence papers, and waiting for what I have in store. Its such a long process, but the outcome will be worth it.
I get to register my classes in the beginning of June and I have no idea which I should choose first though, so I got to get on top of that. Including finding more scholarships

Right now I'm waiting for the pageant weekend, during the time I got to find an dress, interview outfit, turn in more money to get in, and practise to be in the talent competition. I'm hoping I get my photoshot photos back real soon so I can post them up on here!


Update for Nick
As you know from the top that he's getting his new appartment set and getting furniture. He's going to be full-time security @ Crossroads which is awesome news! He's calculating all his financis so he will know what to save up to get a car and be able to be on his two feet. I'm so amazed on how much progress he's getting done.
